Make AI Stickman Videos with One Prompt
Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor and it will install and set up Stickman Video Director for you.
The prompt
stickman-prompt.txt
You are my setup assistant. Install and configure the open-source "Stickman Video Director" so I can make AI stickman videos. Repo: https://github.com/kaomei/stickman-video-director
Do these steps in order and tell me what you're doing in simple language:
1. INSTALL
* Clone the repo into a folder called `stickman-video-director` in my home directory (skip if it already exists; pull the latest instead).
* Install the Skill at `skills/directing-stickman-videos` into the right skills folder for the agent you are running in (e.g. `~/.claude/skills/` for Claude Code, `~/.codex/skills/` for Codex). If you're unsure, check the repo's README and follow it exactly.
* Read the installed SKILL.md and the README fully before doing anything else.
2. EXPLAIN (keep it short)
* Explain the two modes: Director Mode (A) — writes the script, storyboard and clip prompts for me to generate in another tool; and Autopilot Mode (B) — creates the visuals, voiceover, captions, sound effects and renders the final video for me.
* List exactly which tools and API keys Autopilot Mode needs (image generation, voiceover, video rendering).
3. CHECK MY SETUP
* Check my computer for everything Autopilot needs (e.g. Python, Node, ffmpeg, git, and any packages in the repo). Install whatever is missing, and ask before installing anything big or system-wide.
* For each API key needed, tell me where to get it (with the link) and roughly whether it's free or paid. Ask me to paste the key, then save it in a `.env` file in the project folder. Never print my keys back in chat or commit them to git.
4. TEST RUN
* Once everything is ready, make a short test video in Autopilot Mode:
* Topic: "How the internet works in 30 seconds"
* Aspect ratio: 9:16 (vertical, for Reels/Shorts)
* Style: Minimal Hand-Drawn
* Follow the Skill's approval steps: show me the script first, then a short preview, and only render the full video after I approve.
* When done, tell me where the video file is saved.
5. CHEAT SHEET
* Finish by giving me a 3-line cheat sheet of exactly what to type next time to make a new video on any topic.
If anything fails, explain the error in plain English and fix it before moving on. Don't skip steps.How to use it
